Miley Cyrus The Time of Our Lives is an extended play by Miley Cyrus. The Time of Our Lives was released on August 28, 2009 under Hollywood Records as a Wal-Mart exclusive.
The Time of Our Lives was specially made to reciprocally promote Cyrus's joint clothing line with Max Azria. She worked w/ several producers & writers on the album, mainly Dr. Luke and John Shanks, the latter who produced Miley Cyrus's successful song "The Climb."
Musically, The Time of Our Lives album has an inclination towards rock and represented a musical transition for Miley Cyrus. The Time of Our Lives songs are generally inspired by love and portray some of Cyrus's personal struggles and life, though Miley Cyrus only co-wrote "Before the Storm."
The extended play received generally positive reviews. Bill Lamb of About.com praised the songs "Kicking and Screaming," "Party in the U.S.A." and "The Time of Our Lives" for their energy and upbeat lyrics, though he described the ballads as "throwaways." Lamb also noted, "The true key to Miley Cyrus's most arresting talent and distinctiveness is clearly her voice."
Heather Phares of Allmusic claimed that The Time of Our Lives "is another confident step in that direction." Phares praised "Kicking and Screaming," "Talk Is Cheap" and "Obsessed;" she noted them as mature, plus a portrayal of her "inner rock chick and ballad-singing diva."
Mikael Wood of Entertainment Weekly compared "Obsessed" to the musical style from the musical Les Misérables and added that he "awaits her inevitable death-metal move."

Miley Cyrus Wings
in Wings as Laurel (Main Role. Confirmed on July 14, 2009).
Wings is a young-adult fairy novel written by debut author Aprilynne Pike. Wings was released in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada on May 5, 2009. Wings is the 1st of 4 books about a 15-year-old girl who discovers she is a fairy sent among humans to guard the gateway to Avalon.
On July 14, 2009, Variety announced that The Walt Disney Company had optioned the film rights to Wings, with Miley Cyrus attached to star as Laurel.
Wings Aprilynne Pike tell about...Fifteen-year-old Laurel has lived her whole life on her family's land near Orick, California and the Redwood National and State Parks, where she was homeschooled by her hippie parents. So when she moves to Crescent City, California to attend public school, Laurel has some adjustments to make. While she misses being outdoors all the time, she's getting along pretty well at her new school and soon befriends David, a handsome and sweet boy who understands Laurel and her strict vegan diet. Things are looking up until a bump between Laurel's shoulders sprouts into a giant flower on her back.
Hesitant to confide her recent affliction to her parents, Laurel seeks help from David, and together they investigate the strange phenomenon of her "wings." Their only clue is that—much to Laurel's embarrassment—when she was about three years old, she was found on her parents’ doorstep in a basket, with no knowledge of where she came from.
On a trip back to the family home, Laurel's world is forever changed when she encounters Tamani. Laurel finds herself inexplicably drawn to him, and he provides many of the answers she has been seeking. It turns out she’s not even human; like Tamani, she’s a faerie. She was sent to her parents to inherit their land, which holds something very important to the faeries. This plan is nearly thwarted when Laurel’s family moves and puts the land up for sale. The gate to Avalon, which the faeries have protected for ages, is now threatened, and Laurel must help save the faeries’ secret, protect her family, sort out her confused feelings for David and Tamani, and figure out her own identity—and her place in both worlds.
Wings debuted to positive reviews overall, with comparisons to the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer—who endorsed Pike's work via a cover blurb, which reads, "Aprilynne Pike's Wings is a remarkable debut; the ingenuity of the mythology is matched only by the startling loveliness with which the story unfolds." Booklist wrote, "This first novel is clearly designed to attract the Twilight set, though there’s significantly less edge (and blood). There is, however, a familiar triangle. . . . Fine escapist fare, this neatly mixes the everyday with the otherworldly." Romantic Times awarded Wings a "Top Pick," calling it "an enthralling story of danger and love. This re-interpretation of the faerie story is one that will captivate readers with its plausibility and imagination."
