As of February 2010, Cyrus' movie, The Last Song is scheduled for a release on March 31, 2010.
Shooting for the 4th season of Hannah Montana is also scheduled to begin in 2010, with this upcoming fourth season to be its last. "You never know in this business... but right now we're scheduled to wrap [forever] after shooting this new batch of episodes," said Adam Bonnett, the channel's senior vice-president of programming. Bonnett is quoted as saying that the fourth season will premiere in late spring but that there will be enough new episodes to last until 2011.

The Last Song is an upcoming American coming-of-age drama film starring Miley Cyrus and directed by Julie Anne Robinson. Nicholas Sparks was approached to write both the film's screenplay and the novel by the same name. Sparks completed the screenplay in January 2009, prior to the completion of the novel. The film's storyline follows a troubled teenager, played by Cyrus, and her estranged father, played by Greg Kinnear, as they reconnect with each other through music during a summer in a quiet Southern beach town. The film also stars Kelly Preston and Liam Hemsworth. Offspring Entertainment produced the film for Touchstone Pictures, an alternative film label of The Walt Disney Company. The Last Song is Sparks' first screenplay to be brought to film as well as Robinson’s feature film directorial debut.
The setting, originally North Carolina like the novel, changed to Georgia after states campaigned for months to host production. Upon beginning production in Tybee Island, Georgia and nearby Savannah, The Last Song became the first movie to be shot and set in Tybee Island. Filming lasted from June 15 to August 18, 2009 with much of it occurring on the island's beach and pier. The film's premiere will be held in Los Angeles, California on March 25, 2010. The Last Song was originally scheduled for wide release on January 8, 2010, but has since been postponed to March 31, 2010.

hmm when i saw that Miley Cyrus was to star in this, i'm like "Wha-?"
Usually everyone's all hatein' on Miley cuz of Hannah Montana and how she sings, her attitude etc...
But judging from this trailer, it looks like Miley might be able to pull it off.
She does kind of resemble the "rebllious teenager" at least.
We'll just have to wait and see.
