Poor reviews for The Last Song.. LOL..

Miley Cyrus received poor reviews for The Last Song,
which was released on March 31, 2010. Movie critics generally acknowledged Cyrus's stage presence but opined that she lacked emotional range.

Nonetheless, the film was commercially successful and, according to box-office analyst Exhibitor Relations, "a successful transition to adult roles for Miley Cyrus."

Later in 2010, TMZ released a video of Miley Cyrus, then 16, giving Adam Shankman, producer of The Last Song, a lap dance at the film's wrap party. Miley Cyrus's father defended her actions, saying Miley was just "having fun" and that "it's what people her age do".

As of June 2010, Miley Cyrus is set to star in three more films, Wings, LOL (Laughing Out Loud), and Wake. In LOL, a remake of a 2008 French teen comedy, Cyrus plays "a daughter who is involved with all the wrong kids, doing drugs, failing school, but [...whose] mother has her on this perfect pedestal" and says "[She] just fell in love with the story." Wings, based on the first novel in a planned four-book series written by Aprilynne Pike, would star Cyrus as Laurel, a fifteen year old who discovers she is a fairy. Wake, a Paramount Pictures/MTV Films thriller, is based on the first novel in a trilogy by Lisa McMann and would star Cyrus as dream-traveling Janie.

On June 18, 2010 Miley Cyrus performed a duet with Bret Michaels of the Poison classic, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," on ABC's "Good Morning America" summer concert series.

Miley Cyrus’ third studio album, Can't Be Tamed, is scheduled for release on June 22, 2010. The first single is the title track,"Can't Be Tamed". It was co-written and produced by Tim James, Antonina Armato and Cyrus.

The single premiered on MySpace on April 30, 2010. It was sent to U.S. radio on May 3, 2010 and will be available as a digital download on May 18, 2010. After releasing the album, Cyrus says she will likely take a break from the music industry in order to focus on her film career.

Miley Cyrus notes, "I've not taken, like, acting lessons or anything, but it doesn’t mean I don’t need to because I’m sure I do [...] I’m probably going to go book an acting coach."

Miley Cyrus worried about Hannah Montana

Miley Cyrus has confessed she is worried about how she will cope when her Disney show ends.

The 17-year-old singer said Hannah Montana was her “security blanket” and admitted she treats it like a bit of a holiday.

“It’s so comfortable because after I go off and do 80 shows on tour, I go back to Hannah Montana,” she told US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.

“It’s easy for me – it’s like a rhythm I know really well. I’m not going to have that easy thing to go back to.

“It’s easy – it’s almost like a vacation sometimes because I go there and I know it so well. Not having that makes me a little worried.”

Cyrus said she was currently filming the final season of Hannah Montana – about a girl who leads a secret life as a famous pop singer.

But she assured fans that the hit show would remain on screens for another year.

“This is our last season we’re filming right now. We’ve got seven more episodes, but we’ve done it in a way where it’ll go on at least another year all over the world,” she explained.

“Hannah Montana will still be on the air. We just did the finale of season three and now we’re finishing season four. It’s not completely over yet.”

Miley Cyrus to concentrate on movies -Quits music

Miley Cyrus’s ardent followers were really disappointed after hearing the news that she will be quitting her singing profession in exchange for acting.

Cyrus is recently working for her upcoming movie The Last Song and is excited to enter the glitzy profession as an actress full time. She mentioned that her recent album will be released in the month of June and would be her last album as a singer. After that she will be full-fledged into acting.


Last year, Cyrus had announced while quitting her show, Hannah Montana that “she had grown out” of the role she had played since she was 12 years old.

The fourth and last music album for Cyrus would be ‘I Can’t Be Tamed’.

We're still not over Miley Cyrus' weird hair-flinging - or convulsions, as Zap2It put it - during her song on last night's American Idol, (please head to the Lifeline Live FORUM to tell me I'm not alone in this) - but ... onward.

The pop star appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week on Wednesday, March 31st, and Ellen gives her two bikes? Why? Because Ellen says she has seen Miley riding her bike with new boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

Miley tells Ellen the chemistry with Liam when they first started filming The Last Song was "kind of awkward. We were both like, I liked him a little bit, he liked me a little bit, but it was awkward. Then I was like, 'Ok, just fake it. Please just pretend you like me,' and he was like, 'I don't have to pretend. I really do like you.' Ok, you're going to be my boyfriend cool. ... I was like, 'Good,' and we've been together for 10 months now and I'm really happy."

Apparently, Miley Cyrus got upset with a paparazzo and stopped to confront him (see thumbnail below). He must have said

something really out-of-line for her to confront him.

As of February 2010, Cyrus' movie, The Last Song is scheduled for a release on March 31, 2010.

Shooting for the 4th season of Hannah Montana is also scheduled to begin in 2010, with this upcoming fourth season to be its last. "You never know in this business... but right now we're scheduled to wrap [forever] after shooting this new batch of episodes," said Adam Bonnett, the channel's senior vice-president of programming. Bonnett is quoted as saying that the fourth season will premiere in late spring but that there will be enough new episodes to last until 2011.

In The Last Song... Miley Cyrus as Veronica "Ronnie" Miller, an angry seventeen year old forced to spend a summer with her estranged father.

The Last Song is an upcoming American coming-of-age drama film starring Miley Cyrus and directed by Julie Anne Robinson. Nicholas Sparks was approached to write both the film's screenplay and the novel by the same name. Sparks completed the screenplay in January 2009, prior to the completion of the novel. The film's storyline follows a troubled teenager, played by Cyrus, and her estranged father, played by Greg Kinnear, as they reconnect with each other through music during a summer in a quiet Southern beach town. The film also stars Kelly Preston and Liam Hemsworth. Offspring Entertainment produced the film for Touchstone Pictures, an alternative film label of The Walt Disney Company. The Last Song is Sparks' first screenplay to be brought to film as well as Robinson’s feature film directorial debut.

The setting, originally North Carolina like the novel, changed to Georgia after states campaigned for months to host production. Upon beginning production in Tybee Island, Georgia and nearby Savannah, The Last Song became the first movie to be shot and set in Tybee Island. Filming lasted from June 15 to August 18, 2009 with much of it occurring on the island's beach and pier. The film's premiere will be held in Los Angeles, California on March 25, 2010. The Last Song was originally scheduled for wide release on January 8, 2010, but has since been postponed to March 31, 2010.

hmm when i saw that Miley Cyrus was to star in this, i'm like "Wha-?"

Usually everyone's all hatein' on Miley cuz of Hannah Montana and how she sings, her attitude etc...

But judging from this trailer, it looks like Miley might be able to pull it off.
She does kind of resemble the "rebllious teenager" at least.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Everybody Hurts

Miley Cyrus She is in talks to join an A-list group of celebrities banding together for a cover of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts." Proceeds from the charity single, organized by Simon Cowell, will go towards Haiti earthquake relief.

Simon Cowell said "It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen," "It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti. This is something that really matters to us all, and I'm so grateful for the support we are getting."

Other artists confirmed for "Everybody Hurts" are Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis, and Mika.
